Abstract

In this paper we present a survey of expert systems in neurology. Especially in the field of neurology diseases occur in varying combinations of symptoms. Supporting medical staff in the process of finding a correct diagnosis to a hypothesis in a timely manner is very desirable to improve a patients outcome. We searched Google Scholar, Mendeley and PubMed and compared the found systems regarding their performance, precision and applicability in practice. Moreover we highlight gaps and point out possible further research directions.
