Abstract
Laparoscopic hysterectomy refers to surgical removal of the uterus using minimally invasive techniques. Advances in the field of minimally invasive gynecology have allowed laparoscopic hysterectomy to become the most commonly performed surgery on nonpregnant women in the United States for a wide variety of indications. As such, it is important for surgeons to understand the fundamentals of minimally invasive techniques, common pitfalls, and strategies for success.
