Abstract

Software companies operate in an environment where there is global competition and demand for innovation is increasing. In these environments, the knowledge generated daily is primarily priority raw material for the development of programs, which will be delivered to increasingly demanding customers. The difficulty in systemizing the process of knowledge creation in order to retain it and improve it, even with the intense changes in staff, in technology and in the defined organizational objectives, is the major challenge for the organizations. The methodologies used in the software development process can influence directly the way knowledge is shared by the team and the customer and in adding value to the final product. The research is relevant due to link agile practices and knowledge management for competitive survival of IT companies. The methodology used was based on exploratory research to establish the theoretical bases of the relevant topics. From this theoretical foundation it was possible to establish the points of convergence between the pillars of Knowledge Management and Agile Methodologies.
