Modern Directions of Perfection of Technology of Complex Processing of Low-Grade Aluminum Containing Raw Material with the Expansion of the Assortment of the Products

Abstract

The world aluminum industry is completely based on use of the high-quality bauxites processed by the most simple and economic Baeyer method. In the domestic aluminum industry in connection with the limited stocks of high-quality bauxites on large scale non bauxites low-grade alumina-containing raw material – nephelines are processed. One of the enterprises processing raw nepheline is an aluminum plant in Pikalevo. The share of alumina from non bauxites raw material makes 40 %, including Pikalevo alumina of  8 %. The general deficiency of alumina in Russia is more than 50 % that is very dangerous for such a strategically important branch, as the aluminum industry.
