Abstract

The first meteorites discovered in Brazil have unusual stories. There are reports that the Macau meteorite shower (seen to fall on 1836) caused massive damages (many oxen and cattle killed and houses destroyed) but only a small pieces of an ordinary chondrite were recuperated.
