Abstract
This chapter was prepared so that the take-home message would be the holistic picture of DGPS – what it is, what it can do, and how you can use it for your different applications. Global positioning system is basically a satellite navigation system for accurate determination of position in terms of geodetic coordinates latitude, longitude, and height. GPS consists of three segments. The conversion coordinates, GPS error sources, and DGPS accuracy enhancement are presented with gentle and elite terminology. Comparison of different methods of GPS operation and achievable accuracies are presented in this chapter.
