Abstract
This chapter identifies challenges that students may face in their online courses. It also discusses specific strategies that online instructors can use to assist students with these challenges and help them to have a successful learning experience. These challenges and strategies are organized into five areas: readiness for online learning, technology issues, communication, study skills, and critical thinking skills.
