Abstract
The Metaverse, an amalgamation of virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and digital technologies has captured substantial attention for its potential to reshape human interaction, collaboration, and experiences. This comprehensive review examines Metaverse and its applications across multiple domains. The paper begins by elucidating the foundational technologies of the Metaverse, such as VR, AR, and spatial computing. It traces the evolution of the concept and its significance in bridging physical and digital realms. The review delves into diverse applications of the Metaverse. It explores how the Metaverse facilitates novel forms of social engagement, immersive Education, and remote collaboration. It also assesses its impact on entertainment, commerce, healthcare, and personal expression. The review emphasizes the potential of the Metaverse to redefine workspaces, enable unique gaming experiences, and revolutionize economic models. Ethical concerns, technical challenges, and regulatory frameworks are discussed, emphasizing the need for privacy, data security, and ethical guidelines. In conclusion, the paper underscores the transformative potential of the Metaverse across industries while highlighting the necessity for ethical considerations. The ongoing evolution of the Metaverse demands continuous research and collaboration to ensure its responsible integration into society.
