Abstract
The paper presents the model of the educational video game designer's perspectives and the possible application of this model to design, create, and improve the design of educational video games. The model presents the three perspectives of the designer and the corresponding characteristics. The designer's role is fundamental to the appropriate and successful design, creation, and improvement of the design of educational video games. The model can be applied in developing various types of educational video games. This paper presents the possibility of using the model in combination with the DIZU-EVG instrument for visualizing gaming and learning results to design, create and improve educational maze video games in the APOGEE platform. With the help of the DIZU-EVG instrument for educational video games and through the tool's functionality to visualize customized (personalized) dashboards, the results of the played game sessions of players and learners and the statistics of the designed and played educational video games are visualized and are presented to the users and the designer. The presented model of the perspectives of the educational video game designer can be widely used in developing and improving different types of educational video games in various fields. The model focuses precisely on the critical role of the designer and its characteristics. Using the model in combination with the DIZU-EVG instrument for visualizing gaming and learning results through customized (personalized) dashboards will provide an opportunity for appropriate and purposeful design and improvement of educational video games based on visually analyzed results by designers.
