Abstract
Supply chain management is the integration of all activities involved in the production, starting from the supply of the raw material, manufacturing, distribution and finally delivery of the products to the end customers. The Supply chain model is never static but varies from business to business, strategy to strategy, vision to vision, and so on. The service supply chain model(s) is different from the supply chain model(s) of tangible products. The service supply chain model of higher education, in turn, is explicitly different from all other service supply chain models and is termed as the Higher education supply chain model (HESC model) in the present study. HESC possessed a very high credence factor. A literature review performed in the present study reveals that such model(s) has not yet been developed or proposed by any researcher, hence it is worthy to propose a supply chain viz-a-viz., value chain model for the higher education sector. The ultimate goal of supply chain models is to deliver value to the customer with optimum utilization of the resources. The proposed model in the study will provide a framework for further value addition to the entire procedures in the higher education sector. The relationship between all the elements has been discussed in the configuration of the HESC model section. The model can be utilized to increase supply chain efficiency in Higher education.
