Abstract
This chapter comprises a brief review of the epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnostic tests, staging and management of esophageal squamous-cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma, as well as a short description of other primary esophageal malignant and benign tumors and the role of endoscopy for the diagnosis.
