Abstract

Over the past fifteen years, the use of podcasts has grown significantly in many areas, including education. In higher education, recording live lectures in face-to-face courses or offering additional learning materials in the form of podcast episodes is popular. However, podcasts can also serve other educational functions. In this paper, we introduce the concept of an educational podcast that we have launched for current and potential students in our computer science degree programs. The main goal of the podcast is to provide them with more information about our degree programs in order to increase student motivation, transparency, and success rates. In each episode, we focus on either a specific course or a specific study-related topic. In addition, we conduct expert interviews on current topics as well as interviews with our graduates. First statistics show a constant increase in the number of downloads. In future research, we plan a detailed evaluation among the listeners of our podcast.
