Abstract
This paper develops the author’s opening keynote presentation titled “Phronetic Project Management Leadership – Five Messages to the Global Project Management Community” delivered at International Project Management Association 32nd World Congress held in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation, on September 21st, 2021. The six messages in this article, with one message having been added in this article, are proposed homework for the global project management community considered critical by the author after having traveled in the global project management arena over the past half century as a practitioner, operator of a national project management association, academic and global trainer of project and program management. The six messages are being proposed as an essay based on the author’s qualitative analysis and continuous industry monitoring via the opportunities provided in the above-mentioned capacities and represent discrete homework topics analyzed on their own although the messages except the first topic are related with each other in one common issue of a narrower-than-potential focus of the project management discipline.
