Abstract

This chapter introduces the controversial field of palatoplasty. The pros and cons of the various techniques are presented in historical context and in relation to anatomical features. Illustrations and drawings clarify the issues. Three patient cases and the associated surgical procedure are then described step by step with detailed photographic material and detailed drawings.
