Abstract

Stereotactic body radiotherapy for primary and metastatic tumors affecting the spine and surrounding connective tissues is increasingly used in the setting of longer life expectancy, oligometastatic disease, radioresistant histologies, and following surgery. In certain cases, early data suggest that stereotactic outcomes are superior to conventionally fractionated strategies for both primary and metastatic tumors alike. Optimal dose and fractionation, dose-limiting toxicities, and treatment precision are ongoing areas of controversy and investigation.
