Zusammenfassung
Neurochirurgische Methoden gegen atypische Gesichtsschmerzen, neuropathische Schmerzen und Clusterkopfschmerzen werden dargestellt, einschließlich der Erläuterung der Mechanismmen der funktionellen Neurochirurgie. Komplikationen in der Mund-, Kiefer- und Gesichtschirurgie sind sehr oft neue Schmerzen nach Operationen. Schmerzen können pharmakologisch medikamentös oder physikalisch-medizinisch und verhaltenstherapeutischen behandelt. Konstervativ therapierefraktäre schmerzhafte Zustände, stellen Patienten und Ärzte vor große Probleme. Sehr oft werden alternative Therapieformen eingesetzt. Solange der Schmerzzustand gebessert wird, ist alles in Ordnung. Wenn die gewählten Methoden jedoch unwirksam sind, wenden sich die Patienten an Spezialisten, die nach einer weiteren unwirksamen Behandlung in der schwierigen Lage sind, den leidenden Patienten an andere immer invasivere Behandlungen heranzuführen oder letztendlich den Zustand des Patienten als unbehandelbar und letztendlich als tödlich zu bezeichnen. Der folgende Artikel informiert über funktionelle neurochirurgische Behandlungen gegen neuropathische und atypische Gesichtsschmerzen nicht nur von der Sonnenseite der Neurochirurgie. Der interdisziplinäre Ansatz bei komplexen schmerzhaften Erkrankungen ist unerlässlich.
