Abstract
This chapter provides the high-level overview of the key responsibilities of the DMC to the study. Additional thoughts are provided about how DMC recommendations are formed – the ethical considerations so that the DMC recommendations can provide benefits to the current patients, the potential patients, the larger patient population, the clinical community as well as the organization sponsoring the study.
