Zusammenfassung
Die Regionalisierung der Geschäftstätigkeit ist ein Trend bei multinationalen Unternehmen. Regionale Strukturen überbrücken die Distanz zwischen der Unternehmenszentrale und den lokalen Tochtergesellschaften und Märkten, indem sie als integrale Vermittler fungieren. Immer mehr multinationale Unternehmen aus Schwellenländern errichten ihre regionalen Zentralen in Europa, doch ist wenig über die Rolle regionaler Strukturen in aufstrebenden multinationalen Unternehmen bekannt. Eine der Schlüsselfragen lautet: Wie viel Autonomie und Einfluss hat die regionale Zentrale bei der Führung der regionalen Geschäfte? Um die Beziehung zwischen Hauptsitz und regionalem Hauptsitz zu untersuchen, nehmen wir die mikropolitische Perspektive ein. Anhand einer Fallstudie über die Aktivitäten eines brasilianischen multinationalen Unternehmens in der Schweiz leistet diese Studie einen Beitrag zur Literatur über die Rolle der regionalen Zentralen bei der Internationalisierung von Multilatinas. Sie erklärt auch, wie die Konzernzentrale durch den Einsatz verschiedener Machtmittel, vor allem der Macht über Prozesse und der Macht über Sinngebung, eine Dominanz über die europäische Zentrale erreicht hat.
