Abstract

As one of the main representative figures of modern New Confucianism, Mou Zongsan牟宗三proposes a complete interpretation of Mencius’s moral philosophy. In interpreting Mencius’s moral philosophy, he extensively appropriated Kant’s concepts and philosophical frameworks. This chapter intends to investigate MOU’s interpretation of Mencius’s moral philosophy, and thereby to compare the similarities and differences between Mencius’s and Kant’s moral philosophy.
