Abstract

Medical professionalism is a core competency for the healthcare practitioner that has been shown to translate into better patient outcomes while providing an environment for sustained growth and wellness. Significant investments have been made into its research, education, and evaluation. One of six Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) core competencies, it is the very tenet to which all physicians must ascribe to successfully complete their training and achieve a well-rounded medical practice.
