Abstract
China has a vast territory and a large population. Under the comprehensive action of many factors such as natural geography, history and humanities, regional differences and unbalanced development objectively exist, especially the large regional differences between the East and the West. Using the traditional hierarchical clustering method and the qualitative double clustering method with relatively outstanding performance, this paper makes an in-depth research, discussion and bold prediction on the economic regional division scheme and economic growth mode of each province in China. In recent years, the economic development gap between underdeveloped provinces in Western China and coastal provinces in eastern China has been quite prominent, which has attracted extensive attention from all walks of life. Economic development under the planned economic system has played a positive role.
