Abstract
The chapters in this volume draw upon a diverse set of theories, perspectives, and methodologies to explore the myriad ways in which the physical environment shapes family functioning, health, and well-being. In this final chapter, we identify and discuss several of the salient themes addressed by the authors, particularly those that advance understanding of family resilience and social equity. To conclude, we highlight future directions and opportunities for interdisciplinary research on environmental influences on families.
