Abstract

This clinical case explains the diagnostic-therapeutic strategy followed by us in a situation where the suspicion of a neoplastic pleural effusion is very strong. This is our usual strategy in similar situations. We avoided performing diagnostic thoracentesis and started immediately with the Medical Thoracoscopy after the indispensable diagnostic imaging (chest X-ray, CT scan and ultrasound examination). In this way, we were able to achieve the necessary objectives in a short time.
