Handbook of Pleistocene Archaeology of Africa

Abstract

Excavations in 1992 at Kehf el Hammar, Morocco, revealed the presence of at least two Iberomaurusian (LSA) occupation layers with artifacts and bones. New investigations by the present team in 2001–2002 uncovered a more complex stratigraphic sequence of multiple occupation layers in association with exceptionally rich environmental remains. A series of thermoluminescence and AMS radiocarbon ages are provided for the new sequence.
