Abstract

Geertrui Cazaux (Belgium) writes about the combined force of sexism and ableism that she experiences through such tendencies as the movement’s heroization of direct action rooted in aggression and physical confrontation. Cazaux describes the extra effort she must go through to attend protests and events that are designed only for those who are able-bodied. She also expresses her frustrations with health vegans, whose words body-shame and perpetually insist that veganism can heal complicated health problems.
