Clinical Decision-Making in Oral Medicine

Abstract

Peripheral and central giant cell granulomas are conditions with similar histopathological features that may arise in the gingivae or jaw bones. The first is a reactive lesion, and the second shows non-neoplastic proliferative behavior. This chapter aims to review the features of these lesions by discussing the most important aspects of the diagnosis and treatment of each lesion.
