Abstract
The craniofacial region is fundamental for the aesthetic harmony of the human body. Based on this assumption, the aesthetic results after neurosurgical interventions should be considered. As well as advances in surgical techniques, patients also demand that cosmetics not be compromised.
Among the skills required in neurosurgery is that craniotomy must be planned so that the intracranial approach should be safe and effective. An inadequate incision can compromise the entire surgical act. The first step in this process is the anatomical knowledge of vascularization, scalp innervation, and the possibility of hiding the scar. If this is not possible, minimizing aesthetic defects are an essential step in any neurosurgical approach.
