Abstract

Vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) is the retrograde flow of urine from the bladder to the kidneys. It has been associated with other congenital anomalies and syndromes. VUR has been identified following evaluation of antenatal hydronephrosis, urinary tract infections in children, siblings of children with VUR and children of patients with VUR. This chapter deals with the pathogenesis of VUR, its evaluation and management, and identifies some of the controversies that persist.
