Abstract

Innovative silicone self-adhesive materials in the form of single-sided tapes with high values of self-adhesive properties were obtained. These materials were obtained by modification of silicone resin with addition of sepiolite. Both pure and hydrochloric acid sepiolite modified was used in this work and characterized by FTIR (Fourier transform infrared), XRD (X-ray diffraction), BET (Brunauer–Emmett–Teller) spectroscopy, among others. The modified adhesive compositions obtained in this way were used to produce silicone adhesive tapes with improved thermal resistance. The adhesive materials obtained with these additives show better cohesion, shrinkage and thermal resistance compared to the composition without modification.
