Abstract

The optimal technique, positioning, and equipment for obtaining quality images in mammography, ultrasound, and MRI are reviewed. Some of the major artifacts in different modalities are covered. The basic requirements of a mammography medical outcomes audit, relevant biostatistical terms, and acceptable interpretative performance criteria are discussed. Key points of the MQSA (Mammography Quality Standards Act) pertaining to radiologists and the annual inspection are also reviewed.
