Abstract
The document proposes a reflection on the role of urban and environmental planning in promoting actions aimed at improving the health and well-being of life of the inhabitants for a sustainable, safe, healthy and socially inclusive city. Today, as also envisaged by the Green New Deal, in order to support health and well-being policies, it is necessary to identify new tools and new sustainable development trajectories and medium-long term policies aimed at the specificity of local contexts that must be resilient towards the new and increasingly complex settlement geographies. Among the experiments conducted by the Lastre research laboratory, the Capacity project represented the tool capable of creating experimental research approaches to promote collective participation and sharing of project activities, placing the accent on the principle of a healthy city and eco-sustainability. In the urban and more generally territorial context. In this project, the definition of care acquires a broad meaning, not exclusively linked to the health aspect, but which broadens towards a different role of local communities that redefines urban welfare.
