Abstract

Fetal Doppler echocardiography significantly enhances the diagnostic information that can be obtained from sonographic imaging of the fetal heart. In order to ensure the reliability of the technique it is imperative, however, that one should be familiar with the instrumentation and appropriately trained in its applications. This updated chapter provides an introduction to the principles of Doppler echocardiography as applied in fetal cardiac assessment.
