Abstract

Nowhere does the adage “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” apply more than in the area of physician wellness and burnout prevention. There are some strategies, and data, that social science have shown to be useful to improve day-to-day and year-to-year life and happiness. We will attempt to review these, with special attention to the work-related nemesis of happiness/wellness: burnout.
