Abstract
The preoperative examination before cataract surgery is often the first contact between doctor and patient. This should take place in a calm, empathetic and goal-oriented manner. During this conversation, a thorough clinical history should be taken—in particular a history of previous corneal surgery should be thoroughly explored.
