Abstract
This chapter examines the impact of burnout and compassion fatigue on a first-century pastor, Timothy, and the intervention process utilized by the Apostle Paul to combat the effects of the phenomenon. Paul communicates a series of positive protective components to reduce and reverse the adverse effects of burnout that are applicable to contemporary organizations, including healthy intimate relationships with family and mentors, the resurgence of personal prayer and spirituality, organizational support, and reminders that you are not alone in his ministry.
