Abstract

This book is about cataloging designed technologies that have been designed for the healthy aging of our older adults. This project started as a simple literature review on what industry, researchers and entrepreneurs have done in the field of aging in relationship to technologies1 2. Soon it became apparent that there was a contradictory dilemma: it was difficult to find up-to-date information on the topic yet it was a timely and relevant topic for the growing population. Even though nowadays we are just clicks away from having instant access to a plethora of information, it was challenging to find exemplary products on the topic of designed technologies for older adults, an aging population that is dramatically growing and eager to stay healthy and independent. The purpose of writing this book was then clear. There was a need to develop a catalog that can help a large audience identify work on the topic. This motivation was then converted into a research project.
