Minimally Invasive Techniques in Pediatric Urology

Abstract

Vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) is one of the significant risk factors for acute pyelonephritis in children. Endoscopic treatment has become the first-line treatment for VUR at many centers because it is technically easy and can be performed as an outpatient procedure. General anesthesia is recommended for children and may require repeat treatments, particularly if VUR is high grade. Our technique for the endoscopic treatment of VUR in infants and children is described.
