Abstract
In this study, the investigators reviewed the relationship between specific common medical illnesses and the risk of suicide in the elderly from a population-based case-control study. A broad database was accessed for cases of suicide which were matched with controls. The study identified common medical illnesses which were associated with increased risk of suicide.
