Abstract
A growing number of students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are attending colleges nationwide. School psychology university faculty possess a unique set of clinical skills that lend themselves well to the supervision and provision of college-based support services for students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The present chapter will review the development and implementation of college-based services for students with ASD utilizing program theory as a framework. The authors also highlight ways to improve university culture for successfully teaching students with ASD, outline consultation models for use with college faculty and staff and identify avenues for community partnership. Finally, the authors discuss the process of supervision and how one might successfully integrate school psychology graduate students into a support program for students with autism at the college level.
