Abstract
This book contributes to the current dialogue of the post-pandemic cities. Although healthy urban environments were already acknowledging the need for an intertwined perspective addressing both health and urban planning, it has been the COVID-19 outbreak crisis that has accelerated this process. The pandemic has supposed the highlight of many vulnerabilities that were already present, where older people have been the most affected for many reasons. Ageism, loneliness and unhealthy living conditions are still consequences that we can find in our cities. Care and health equity are core principles that shall be integrated in all policies, specially in urban planning and design as the built environment play a key role to provide and facilitate health and wellbeing.
