Abstract

Intermetallic compounds such as titanium aluminides are currently produced by arc-melting of pure metals. The large difference in the melting point of the elements and the compounds causes the difficulty to make uniform accurate stoichiometric compounds. Intermetallic compounds such as titanium aluminides are currently produced by arc-melting of pure metals. The large difference in the melting point of the elements and the compounds causes the difficulty to make uniform accurate stoichiometric compounds. This paper presents the possibility of direct synthesis of intermetallic compounds with precise components through thermo-reduction from the mixtures of oxide. The possibility of electrochemical deposition for stoichiometric intermetallic compounds was also be discussed.
