Abstract

In calves kept in the conditions of Central Russia, by the 45th day of life, an accelerated development of platelet aggregation was noted in response to all applied inducers, which leveled off by the end of the observation. The number of platelets circulating in the blood, as well as medium and large aggregates of platelets increased by 20.9% and 53.8% by the 45th day of nutrition, respectively, then very quickly dropping to the previous level. The basis of these changes in the observed calves was a 18.2% increase in the activity of thromboxane synthesis in the region of 45 days of life due to a reversible increase in cyclooxygenase by 13.0% and thromboxane synthetase by 19.1%. Also of great importance in this was a brief increase in the content of adenosine phosphates in platelets and the activation of their secretion. In addition, the process of a short-term increase in platelet activity was ensured by a reversible increase in the calves’ intact platelets by 21.9% and 30.5% of the actin and myosin contents by 45 days of life, followed by a quick return to their levels.
