Abstract
The article provides a general analysis of the state of the population of the common lynx of the Amur subspecies (L.l. stroganovi) inhabiting the territory of the Amur region. The data on the number of lynx for the last 11 years are summarized. The dynamics is determined both in the whole region and in the administrative districts. The main factors influencing the state of the population of the species in the Amur region – forage resources and food competitors-are identified. The limiting factor in the distribution of the lynx in the Amur region is the presence of its main food competitor – the wolf (Canis lupus). Since the lynx is a predator of the highest ecological level, humans additionally took other factors that affect the number of species into account - the complex intraspecific structure of the population, long-term care of offspring, diseases, as well as economic use. For a clearer understanding of the places and types of habitat, the types of land suitable for habitation were bonitized with the calculation of the density of this species in these hunting grounds, the total area of land suitable for lynx habitation in the Amur region was calculated, and the elements of the habitat that are preferable for lynx were identified.
