Abstract

Juniorstudy is a program, which can be used by school students before starting their time at the university. The project is part of the third mission at the University of Rostock. The main target of the Juniorstudy is to support the choice of study direction. Additionally, Juniorstudy is a tool for learning which knowledge is required to start the university study. Over the last years, Juniorstudy courses became an important tool for bridging the gap between school and university. In this chapter, the results of a study are explicated. The study was conducted in the last years with the goal to show that our approach improves the school students’ knowledge. This results in better start conditions and thus facilitates being successful in tests and exams in the basic courses in the first term.
