Abstract
This paper describes the interrelation between business and enterprise architectures. The main purpose is to highlight in what way a carefully planned business architecture in supplement to the enterprise architecture units is able to reduce the risks faced by an organization and to remove the occurrence of unusable data islands.
The paper presents several aspects of the bridge between Business and Software Architecture and the circumstances leading to it. The research described in this paper confirms the existence of different aids and methods helping the convergence of the business architecture and software architecture, which strengthens the company’s positions and benefits. Their advantages and disadvantages are pointed out.
