Abstract
Epiduroscopy is endoscopy of the epidural space. The spinal canal can be entered through different routes, but this chapter will only discuss flexible fiberoptic endoscopy using the trans-sacral approach to the epidural space. In the first section, pertinent spinal anatomy and pathology for the epiduroscopist will be reviewed. In the second section, several applications of epiduroscopy for the treatment of low back pain are presented. This chapter also attempts to provide the reader with a reproducible method as to how to perform epiduroscopy systematically and effectively without relying on a preoperative and often incorrect diagnosis regarding the cause of low back pain.
