Abstract
On the basis of multiple scales method, a solution of the problem about progressive surface waves nonlinear interaction in a finite depth basin with a floating elastic plate is constructed. Asymptotic expansions are obtained up to the third order of smallness for the velocity potential of liquid particles movement and elevation of the plate–fluid surface. The analysis of the dependence of the dispersion properties of the formed disturbance on the elastic and mass characteristics of the plate, its longitudinal compression, is carried out. The influence of nonlinearity of vertical displacements acceleration of the elastic plate on the fluctuations amplitude–phase characteristics is studied. It is shown that the presence of compressive force is expressed in the lag of the fluctuation phase from the phase obtained in the absence of compression.
