Abstract

This chapter outlines analogies for several haematological conditions, such as anaemia, bleeding disorders, clots and deep vein thrombosis, leukaemia, and lymphoma. Haematological issues are usually easy to separate into one of three sources: blood cells, platelets and clotting factors, and white cells. The reader should stress the importance of the source in question during the analogy and take time to translate the analogy into medical terminology so that the patient becomes familiar with their problem.
