Abstract

In this chapter Dr. Ward and Dr. Maher discuss the intern year of residency while providing suggestions to succeed. Although it may appear that an intern should be fearless, fear can be beneficial during the process of learning. Respecting other services and their contributions is key. Although intern year is challenging and stressful, it is important to remember to take time for yourself.
