Managing Acute Corneal Hydrops in Keratoconus

Abstract

A new surgical technique for the treatment of acute keratoconus is described. Descemetoplasty accelerates edema regression and healing of a ruptured Descemet’s membrane. It prevents vascularization in cases of extensive edema, and no complication was found in a group of cases studied.
